Centre for the Documentation of the Art of Tadeusz Kantor Cricoteka
Lesser Poland Voivodeship
Located on the place where former Podgórze power station was located, the building of Cricoteka literally hovering above the existing buildings with a bizarre facade of rusted metal and black mirror.
Tadeusz Kantor (1915-1990) was an avant-garde artist, theatre director, set designer and a major figure in 20th theatre reform, known for his revolutionary theatre productions. Cricoteka, the Centre for the Documentation of the Art of Tadeusz Kantor was founded by him in 1980. The new home of Cricoteka opened in 2014 – is the first art institution in Poland dedicated to an individual artist. The fundamental concerns of Cricoteka are issues such as the nature of the artist’s output and the possible ways of presenting it in a museum.
The multifunctional site seems to be almost 50% pointless stairs, but combined with the original buildings also hosts an exhibition space, archive, theatre hall, café and bookshop; as a result, a large amount of its programme involves happenings, performances, workshops and other live events.
The Cricoteka is the museum that could be recommended only to the fans of extremely alienating, experimental theatre. While quite a limited information accompanies the displays, there are abundant amounts of printed materials trying to explain his avant-garde philosophies.
Indeed, it is not necessary to see interesting without laptopow (available or on hand) and przewodnikow. very cool Museum in a beautiful place :)
the Museum is very cool and modern looks

Serwis: Wyjatkowo beznadziejny. Tzw. "barman" nie wiedzial co sprzedaje, a to co sprzedal nie mialo nic wspolnego z umowna nazwa sprzedawanego produktu...
Wybor: Zaden. Barman nie byl pewny co ma i co moze sprzedac, ale puste polki daja do myslenia
Wystroj: Ktos nie dokonczyl dekoracji wnetrza...
