Orthodox church in the honor of St. Andrew is the masterpiece in "Ukrainian Baroque" style by Russian architect of Italian origin Bartolomeo Rastrelli, became an integral part of surrounding landscape of Kiev and its architectural extension.

The church is part of the National Sanctuary "Sophia of Kiev" as a landmark of cultural heritage. The Saint Andrew's Church overlooks the historic Podil neighborhood, situated on a steep hill to which the church gave its current name—Andriyivska Hill. It is currently one of four architectural landmarks of Ukraine, which were put down on the List of Mankind Treasures of Five Continents by the world society.

St. Andrew's Church is an object of admiration and a source of romantic inspiration. An amazing life-affirming work, as a reflection of the mood and mores of elegant XVIII century, surrounded by a mysterious trail of romance, is an exact hit of architectural style into the place.

Another beautiful church, but currently under renovations. It is said that this is where Saint Andrew put down his cross and said would be a great city full of churches, turns out he was right.

Amazing Cathedral in the Baroque style by Rastrelli. His creation is also the Mariinsky Palace. Passing by, can not help but admire. But now there is no way to visit him, since which year in the reconstruction. Very well located - first descent, so visible from many points in the city.

Beautiful Baroque church with outstanding views, especially in the winter time, when the leaves are off the trees. If you are touring, this church is worth a visit.

“The unique beauty of the temple in the city center”
The Pearl Of Kiev. Very beautiful cathedral, which was built in 1754. Located on the steep right Bank of the Dnieper river, the historic part of the city — Podol. It is situated near the Andriyivskyy descent, which connects two parts of the city. It has very beautiful view during the day and beautiful lighting at night.

Absolutely beautiful church at the top of Kiev. You must get on a tour or read up the history here as it is quite detailed. Go for mass as well for an inside look at the church.

My name being Andrew, I may be partial to this particular church as being one of the most beautiful in Kiev. However, it really does have a very interesting history and story around its construction. It is gorgeous in the inside and well worth the visit!
