Stalin Line, Military open-air museum (Historical and сultural сomplex)
Historical and Cultural Complex "Stalin Line" in the outscirts of the village Loshany - a historical fortification complex, 30 kilometers from Minsk, created for the 60th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The complex was opened on 30 June 2005 and represents a military history museum in the open air. The area of the museum is nearly 26 hectares! Here are the most complete in Belarus exhibition of military equipment, tanks, small arms, artillery and aircraft. Museum assembled a unique collection of German, Russian and Polish armored covers (armor with closing gaps and loopholes for observation and firing), preserved from the time of the First World War.
The basis of the museum are the pillboxes (small fortifications, created for defense and shooting from the protected premises) of the Minsk fortified area "Stalin Line": recreated company site, two machine-gun bunkers, command and observation post. Based on pre-war drawings recreated engineering equipment of the area, system of trenches and fortifications, antipersonnel and antitank obstacles. Minsk fortified area was one of the 21 fortified "Stalin Line" - a system of nodal fortifications on the border of the Soviet Union of the 1930s. Four of these were fortified in Belarus - Polotsk, Minsk, Mozyr, Slutsk.
Historical and Cultural Complex "Stalin Line" Minsk is unique in that all its exhibits are real. Many traces of bullets and shells, dents from splinters. Each exhibit is touchable! Even the tour guides are dressed in the form of officers and men of the Red Army. Everyone has the opportunity to go inside the bunker and take in his hands arms.
"Stalin Line" attracts experts in the field of military equipment, as well as ordinary tourists. First deepen their knowledge, while the latter receive an unforgettable experience.
Another feature of "Stalin Line" is that there in the real landscape recreated battle scenes in real events of the war years. In particular, here recreated battles that occured on the line of the Minsk fortified area in June 1941.
"Stalin Line" - is not only a historical and cultural complex, or open-air museum, but also a great place for a family or active holiday in Belarus. The complex has an artificial lake, where you can take a ride on boats, catamarans or quad. In "farm" try dishes of Belarusian national cuisin. Both adults and children can test yourself and your abilities in a pneumatic dash and the boldest - experience the real weapons times World War II in the open shooting club.
This is the place where you can get stuck for the whole day! I go here two years in a row and plan to go further. A huge Park of military equipment under the open sky, which can be considered infinite, rare restored fighting vehicles, reconstruction of tank battles in case you're wondering, the Stalin Line is what you need!
The non-guiding staff is not always helpful but guides are dedicated and if you are fond of the war theme and Soviet army in particular, that's the place to go.
Well worth a visit. You can see samples of military equipment from the mobile radar stations to aircraft and helicopters, standing on the arms until recently. Tour of the restored part interesting. Horse tanks exciting. You can fire blanks from rare weapons. Parking is cheap and big. On the territory there is a cafe. Possible self-guided tour. English speaking tour guides present.
Pretty decent place, I have long wanted to visit.
Just say: students, take your student cards with you, you can go with a discount ticket.
About the Museum itself I had mixed feelings. As a whole saw a huge amount of military equipment, which you can easily climb up and examine them closely. But all entertainments are chargeable, and quite cheap.
Many items are missing sign describing the car.
There is no clear navigation through the Museum, because people often go on the lawn, not on paths. Yes, in principle this place is a little lacking so here's a European well-groomed, and well thought out.
But even despite all the cons, this place is worth to visit here at least once in your life
Arrived on bikes 13.08.2016.At the entrance we politely the boy gave his shoes to be able to move freely through the Museum, and we had Volotovo. They are extremely not comfortable to walk. And we have a place for Parking bicycles. We Express our gratitude to the boy at the checkpoint!!!!! Bring comfortable shoes for walking!!!Soldier's porridge eat, bring a snack and drink! In cafes the choice is not rich and not all this food will like.It will be interesting at the Museum. There is something to touch, see and buy a souvenir!!!For the most active visitors rides, where the adrenaline will be through the roof!!!!All the staff are very attentive and friendly!!!!!!! It was all very wonderful, will recommend to all,a pleasant holiday for the whole family!!!!Museum and entertainment paid, don't forget money at home!!!!!!
Very well equipped military Museum under the open sky. The amount of equipment causes dizziness. For maniac of military history should definitely visit.
Very well spent time.
A great idea to take out the Museum on this subject, a lot of space. But the creators clearly saved on the architects and planners of the territory - very uncomfortable all organized. Plus state farm is the dominance of 'a retired warrant' for a large part of staff attitude towards visitors does not possess the warmth.
Came here with my 10 year old son. He liked it - a lot of military equipment,a large area, trench, trenches, Pillboxes. You can shoot with different weapons and even guns with good sound effektom. Need to reserve 2-3 hours for a leisurely inspection.
Thought I would spend a couple of hours, and stuck on all day.
Just an amazing place. I think since 2012 it has become even more interesting.
Huge collection of engineering vehicles, armored vehicles, aircraft.
A detailed exposition of the historical fortifications.
Absolutely amazing staff.
Definitely recommend to visit. Seen such Museum of its kind in Finland - the Museum of Salpa line. But this is a cut above!
