A small public garden named after Heydar Aliyev with an area of only half a hectare, is situated near the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Kyiv, never ceases to amaze its visitors with comfort and beauty.
There is a large fountain-waterfall in the center of the park, which is made in form of Oriental carpet and symbolizes the diversity of culture and wealth. Behind it is a replica of the wall of the Baku Fortress, which gives this interesting building a very impressive look. Oriental carpet, which is tiled with Murano glass and ceramics — the world's only full-size replica of the famous "Sheikh Safi" carpet.
Carpet "Sheikh Safi" was woven by the order of Shah Tahmasib for the Ardebil mosque by Maqsood Kashani in carpet-weaving workshops in Tabriz in 1539 and has exceptional for that times dimensions (5.5 x 10.5 metres). The original is in the London's Victoria and Albert Museum.
Water flowing down from mosaic carpet, goes into a multi-tiered waterfall, which symbolizes the source of life and purity.
An important and beautiful landscape composition of the park is the map of Azerbaijan, which is made in the form of flowerbed. There are benches on the territory where you can relax and enjoy the beauty of this place, and Wi-Fi access there free and open to all.
