This park and monument to Volodymyr the Great, which is also there, can be considered as one of the most famous visit cards of Kyiv.
The development and planning of slopes for the park began in 1830-ies. In 1853 in the western part of mountain was erected a monument to Volodymyr the Great, whereby the hill and started to be called Volodymyrsky. According to legends and historians, this is where Prince Volodymyr christened Kyivan people.
Besides the monument, there are smaller sculptures, creations of the Kyiv masters of 1980-1990-ies.
Park is situated very well for tourists and guests of Kyiv, close to St. Michael's Monastery, the funicular and Andriyivskyy descent.
