Fire Breathing Dragon / Smok Wawelski
Lesser Poland Voivodeship
Much of Krakow's history is steeped in legends and this figure is a representation of one of the most famous legends of the shepherd, who would later become King Krak, and the fire breathing dragon he slayed to become king.
The dragon lets out a flame of fire every few minutes and is a great photo opportunity whether you're a couple or a family. Children especially enjoy waiting for the dragon to breath fire. A trip to Wawel isn't complete without seeing the dragon.
The dragon's lair which is a cave beneath Wawel Hills and which served as a pub with a bad reputation in the 16th and 17 centuries is also worth a visit.
Very cool dragon statue that spits out every few minutes even a fire.
After a visit to the Wawel hill you can have a look at the Statue.
Nach einem Besuch des Wawel kann man sich die Statue gerne angucken.
The bose big dragon spitting fire, and so represents an exciting high point of Krakow's high culture.
Always of tourists spewing this dragon surrounded in irregularities?intervals of fire.
Sculpture is rather ugly, but it's a symbol of the town and castle, so that's a must see. You can see it breathing fire, which is cool.
One of the main attractions in the city. Wait to see the fire coming out of the dragon
It is well worth your visit. The dragon spits fire approximately every 3 minutes.
Pretty cool statue - it breathes fire every five minutes automatically. When I visited it was crowded with tourists, particularly children climbing all over the base of the statue. Still a neat place to wander by though.
Nice statue. Lot of details and the fire is great touch. The cave is very cool.
Awe looking metal fire-breathing dragon looks as if it was pulled right from the fable it originates from. Every 15 minutes the dragon gets a stomach ache and spews out fire for 5 seconds from his mouth. Great attraction for kids or people who get over excited about the little things in life.

Picturesque statue of Smok Wawelski (Dragon from Wawel Hill). It throws a flame occasionally. Kids love climbing its basement.
